Siam @ Siam Design Hotel and Spa, The New European Style Hotel in Bangkok

Siam Motors Group has sunk over Baht 600 million in the construction of a niche hotel in Bangkok, Siam @ Siam Design Hotel and Spa, under the concept of a European hotel design trend of art decoration. The hotel took two years of construction and will open in March 2007 after its pre-opening on 15 December, 2006. Siam @ Siam Design Bangkok Hotel and Spa is a 100 percent Thai owned and managed company, registered as a separate entity from the Siam Motors Group. The President and CEO is Mr. Phornpinit Phornprapha and he has built this hotel with the two rai of his family land.

The Siam @ Siam Design Hotel and Spa Bangkok is located on Rama I Road opposite the National Stadium. The hotel will target young, independent European travellers under 45 years of age, especially Germans, Italians and Swiss. It is expected to take up to seven or eight years for the Siam @ Siam Design Hotel & Spa to breakeven. Revenue for the first year of operation is estimated to reach approximately Baht 175 million.

The Siam @ Siam Design Bangkok Hotel and Spa will have 203 new rooms. Room rates will vary between Baht 3,000 to Baht 5,000. The hotel will directly market their product over the internet with e-Booking available 24 hours a day. Mr. Phornpinit said he is not worried about competition as the hotel has a different concept from other city hotels.

Mr. Phornpinit graduated from a tourism and hotel management school in Japan and once managed a hotel in Pattaya. He is currently the Thai Chamber of Commerce vice chairman and Siam Motors Company deputy senior manager. He also owns SMI Travel Company and considers his hotel business his second career.
